Counselling and psychotherapy for Cherry Hinton and nearby areas of Cambridge
My name is Sally Pears and welcome to my website.
How can I help?
“You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.”
Life is challenging – it’s not easy. My aim as a therapist is to help people increase their ability to cope with life’s challenges and to live vital and meaningful lives.
I believe that we all have the ability to overcome our problems but sometimes we need help to see through the fog and we need space to allow ourselves to find solutions. Psychotherapy, or seeing a counsellor, provides a real opportunity for development and change. Within the therapy room we can explore our understanding of the past, gain insight into the present and take greater control of our future. Counselling can help you to make sense of difficult issues and take positive steps to resolve them.
I offer confidential face-to-face counselling using an integrative approach that includes acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
I work with adults and young people (16yrs+) experiencing a range of difficulties, such as:
- Anxiety and panic attacks
- Body image dissatisfaction
- Depression and low mood
- Disordered eating (e.g. food/eating-related anxiety, kcal counting, binge-eating)
- Eating disorders (e.g. Anorexia, Bulimia, Orthorexia)
- Exam stress
- Loss of meaning and purpose
- Low self-esteem and lack of confidence
- Postnatal depression
- Procrastination
- Relationship difficulties at work or at home
- Self-harm
- Social anxiety
- Stress
The first step is to arrange an initial session, where we can talk about your needs and concerns. It’s important that you choose a therapist who is a good ‘fit’ for you, and this initial session is a good opportunity for you to see if you would feel comfortable working with me.
Please look around my website for further information about both myself (About Me) and the therapy I offer (About Therapy).
If you have any questions or would like to arrange an appointment, please contact me by email: sallypears@mail.com or by text: 07757 550 519. (*I aim to respond to all enquiries within 3 working days. If you have not received a reply from me within this time, please check your junk/spam email folder.)
