About Me

me

I have studied and worked in the field of psychology, wellbeing, and behaviour change for the past twenty-five years. Before training and qualifying as therapist, I completed a BSc and PhD in Psychology from the University of Nottingham, and I worked for many years as a behaviour change researcher. Over time, I felt increasingly drawn to the more personal, relational, and transformational work of therapy and eventually retrained as a psychotherapist.

My approach is primarily rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), both of which honour the complexity of our inner lives and support meaningful, values-based change. I also work integratively, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches so that I can meet each client in a way that truly fits who they are and what they need.

I have particular experience working with clients navigating:

  • Stress, anxiety, and burnout

  • Depression and low mood

  • Disordered eating and body image dissatisfaction

  • Low self-esteem and confidence

  • Procrastination

  • Loss of meaning or direction

  • Life transitions, identity shifts, and quiet existential turning points

Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, sensitive, and capable but struggling internally. They may feel stuck in their heads, unsure how to move forward, or quietly overwhelmed by questions they can’t quite articulate. I find this kind of work deeply meaningful.

My aim is always to offer a therapeutic relationship that feels warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental – a space where you can bring your whole self, explore what matters most to you, and begin to move toward living a more fulfilled, rich and meaningful life.
